In November 2020, arete Australia commenced work on the $2 million La Trobe University BS1 School of Nursing Upgrade. The project involved the demolition and fitout of a 550m² area on Level 1 of the Biological Sciences Building 1 at the Bundoora campus, including the safe removal of hazardous materials.
Under a demanding schedule to accommodate the start of Semester 1 in early March, arete Australia adopted a highly collaborative approach, working closely with the client, consultants, and trades to ensure on-time delivery. Constructed to a hospital-grade finish, the new space required meticulous coordination of complex services such as mechanical, medical gases, electrical, and AV teaching systems, while achieving an impeccable standard of fitout.
Practical Completion was achieved in March 2021, resulting in a cutting-edge Nursing Simulation Space that supports modern teaching methods and enhances the learning experience for students starting in 2021 and beyond.
