In January 2021, arete Australia commenced work on the $1.3 million La Trobe University SEMS LAM Hub fitout project.
The goal was to transform existing offices and a laboratory on Level 1 of the Physical Sciences Building into a cutting-edge School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences within the La Trobe Advanced Manufacturing Hub. This process began with the demolition and removal of the existing offices and laboratory, and included carefully isolating and removing any redundant services. With a clean slate in place, arete then constructed and fitted out new wet and dry laboratory spaces tailored to the University’s engineering and mathematics programs.
The project reached Practical Completion in May 2021 and once completed, the revitalised space provided students and researchers with modern facilities to design, fabricate, and test new materials and structures.
