arete Australia was engaged by Monash University to refurbish Building E at the Peninsula Campus, transforming key program rooms in the Nursing faculty into a state-of-the-art simulated hospital environment. To ensure minimal disruption to ongoing classes, the project was delivered in four stages, allowing the space to remain functional throughout construction.
The works involved the selective demolition of outdated simulation labs, offices, and storage areas, making way for an updated floorplan accommodating additional hospital beds. Each new room received comprehensive service upgrades, including medical gases and nurse call systems, as well as new vinyl flooring, joinery, fixtures, beds, curtains, and fresh paintwork.
The result is a modern, immersive learning space that enhances the practical training experience for future healthcare professionals.
