In August 2023, arete Australia was awarded the $4 million Design Lump Sum contract to deliver The University of Melbourne Fishermans Bend Future Construction Lab fitout project. This cutting-edge facility, designed for the Faculty of Engineering and IT, represents a significant transformation of an existing warehouse into a world-class workshop for the engineers of tomorrow.
Our team was tasked with upgrading and installing essential services, enhancing fireproofing measures, and constructing new structural elements to support state-of-the-art engineering equipment. The project involved meticulous planning and execution to ensure the seamless integration of these services with minimal disruption to the existing structure.
Close collaboration with the University of Melbourne and the Faculty of Engineering and IT was crucial to the success of this project. By working hand-in-hand, we ensured that the lab’s infrastructure would not only meet the immediate needs of the facility but also be adaptable for future advancements.
